Further to the simple calculation method put on our website during last March and extended in June, a full document is now available which permits to check the fire resistance R15 of steel structures in order to meet the requirement of the fire regulation relative to warehouses containing important combustible materials. This document covers the main steel frames composed of hot-rolled or welded profiles, the purlins in hot-rolled or cold formed thin wall profiles and truss beams. > continue

Research and valorisation

Research activities undertaken by CTICM make a very valuable contribution to the technical advancement of steel in construction. The outcome of this research is a more accurate evaluation of the behaviour of both hot and cold rolled steel structures.

CTICM valorisation activities ensure that state of the art knowledge and outcomes from our research projects is transferred to practitioners. This includes the dissemination or publication of recommendations, practical guides and software tools etc. Results are then made available through a number of channels and contribute to the development of steel construction standards and regulations.
